Everyone knows it is necessary for companies to have a strong social media platform, but did you know there are some common mistakes to avoid ASAP? “A lot of entrepreneurs and company marketing departments make mistakes when it comes to social media promotion, which can be quite costly for companies,” revealed Issa Asad Florida entrepreneur, social media expert, author, and CEO of Bond Media, Quadrant Holdings, and Q Link Wireless.

Mr. Asad is also the author of 4 Amazon best-selling e-books titled Issa Asad Instant Profits with Instagram, Issa Asad Instant Profits with Alibaba, Issa Asad Instant Profits with Snapchat, and Issa Asad Instant Profits with Vine. The following are 3 social media mistakes to avoid ASAP.

1. Wasting Too Much Money on Posting and Monitoring

As important as social media is for entrepreneurs, it can prove to be quite expensive for you in terms of time. Since people are commenting on the posts every time therefore this can tempt people to go online and view these comments or respond to them every now and then. Before long, one would have wasted a significant amount of time, say a few hours every day on social media sites.

One should understand that social media marketing is not a miraculous solution, but just another form of marketing, which is why one shouldn’t spend more than twenty minutes on it daily. One should use one’s time for other important marketing activities such as emailing, testing online ads, training sales personnel, upgrading one’s website, etc.

2. Expecting Social Media to Create a Lot of Revenue for Your Company

A lot of companies have went under because they worked too hard on getting sales generated from their social media marketing campaigns. While social media is a very useful marketing weapon and you may be able to get a lot of enthusiastic fans gushing about your products or services on these platforms, they are not going to directly generate sales for you. Even though a lot of entrepreneurs may have experienced success from social media, but this is a very small proportion.

A majority of the businessmen have experienced success because of marketing techniques such as emails, online advertisements, website or direct mailing. Thus, you should pay attention to social media, but don’t expect it to be the ultimate tool for generating revenue for your company.

3. Letting Your Followers Stay on the Social Media Platforms

This is one of the biggest blunders committed by entrepreneurs. Having a huge figure of individuals following you on social media platforms is impressive but keep in mind that this figure belongs to the Social Media platform in question, like LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. Thus, in case of cybercrimes or other errors, this list can be deleted.

Also, a change in the policy of the social media platform may cause certain restrictions. For instance, a business post on Facebook may be visible only to a mere 16% of the followers only. Thus, why rely on social media alone? You should have these followers moved to your email list to be on the safe side. In order to do this, you need to have a strong promotional message which would lure people to click on a link and leave their email with your company.
